Paresh Shah BSc (Econ), MBA, FCCA Managing Director

Stephan Ganon CA, MSc Fin Director, Corporate Finance
Stephan graduated from HEC Montreal, and holds a Masters in Finance from London Business School. A Canadian Chart ered Accountant, Stephan has held managerial posts with Grant Thornton and Arthur Andersen. Before co-founding StarGate, he headed the City team of a venture capital advisory firm. As a corporate advisor, he has completed over 20 transactions, some from seed funding to exit and he is a founding Director of African Emerging Ventures and Green Gold Forestry, two projects being incubated by Stargate.

Gita Patel BSc (Econ), FCA Director, Trapezia
Gita is a co-founder of Stargate and a fund manager of Stargate's Trapezia EIS Fund. She was also the creator of the Trapezia programme which included launching Europe's first venture fund, Trapezia EIS Fund, targeting women-focussed businesses. Gita plays a leading role in growing women's entrepreneurship, a field in which she has acquired substantial experience and provided thought leadership over the past five years. Her previous experience includes work in the oil industry, followed by a 15 year career in banking at Nat-West group where she was part of the bank's core management. Gita is a business angel and mentor, and serves on the boards of a number of private companies. Gita also sits on the 'Narrowing the gap' committee for ICAEW, is on the board of British Women Entrepreneurship Association and is a member of the London Chamber of Commerce's ABA board. A graduate from London School of Economics, Gita is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (UK), having trained with Arthur Andersen.

Peter Kirby Company Secretary and Compliance Officer
A Cambridge graduate, Peter spent six years in oil and mining companies before joining consultants Deloitte Haskins Sells. After eight years of change management assignments, he joined a re-insurance broker and became its Joint Managing Director before launching his own group of consultancy and business service companies. A widely experienced manager and administrator of growing businesses, Peter was also for five years Finance and Compliance Director for VCT fund manager Classic Fund Management.

Jeff Moores Company Advisor
Jeff has worked in Financial Services for over 23 years year. His expertise lies in business strategy, commercial finance, taxation and investment. He has successfully built and ran his own practice. In early 2005, Jeff formed a specialist boutique financial and tax accounting business focussing on the mass affluent and high net worth individuals and families. He has held the position of London Regional Chairman for the Personal Finance Society. The PFS set the out the Code of Ethics and Standard for Financial Advisers. Jeff’s position is to advise Stargate Capital Management. His primary role is to develop the investor relations and build a presence within the Institutional and High Net Worth community about emerging opportunities. Jeff is married with one daughter. He is active within Richmond Hockey Club and works closely with Active Ealing coaching the London Youth Game Squad. Yury Dubas BSc Group Accountant
Yury has several years of accounting experience (he has been preparing Stargate’s accounts over the past year) with an expertise in providing accounting solutions to small and medium businesses. His role at Stargate is to prepare financial statements for the Group, its subsidiaries and associates. He has managed a diverse portfolio of over 530 clients for a London-based accounting firm. Yury graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London, with a degree in Economics and Management. He is currently at Stage 2 of his ACCA accreditation. Yury is fluent in Ukrainian, Russian and English.

Simone Brummelhuis Founder of The NextWomen Company Advisor
Simone Brummelhuis is the founder and CEO of The NextWomen, the First Women’s Internet Business Magazine and Community. Educated at University of Amsterdam and Columbia University Law school in NY, she worked for 10 years as an international lawyer in Amsterdam and NY before becoming an entrepreneur by setting up her own B2B publishing company. Thereafter, as co-owner and managing director IENS, she developed this start-up into the no. 1 user generated content restaurant guide in The Netherlands. She is owner of Europeanmuseumguide.com. She is in the jury of the yearly Accenture Media Innovation Awards, she presents the internet program SHE (interviews with business women) on Blueshotstv, she is on the UK Advisory Board of Astia.org, and on the Advisory Board of Trapezia, the European Investment Fund. She is a frequent moderator and speaker through TheNextSpeaker on (female) entrepreneurship and women in business networks.

Martina Scannell LLB Administrator
Martina recently joined Stargate, working closely on the development of the Trapezia EIS II fund. She studied Law at the University of Nottingham for four years, including a year abroad in Sydney, Australia. Martina has a wealth of international experience and has a dedicated interest in finance, management and entrepreneurship, making her a welcome addition to the team.
